Where are we located?
William teaches from Lightning Aviation in Foley, AL, but travels occasionally, depending on class size. Our coverage areas include Baldwin County Alabama and parts of Mobile County Alabama, Escambia County & Santa Rosa County Florida. (See FAA rules)
We’re physically located in the Santa Rosa Beach and Pensacola areas of Florida and the Gulf Shores and Eastern Shore areas of Alabama, but we work in Perdido Key, FL and Orange Beach, AL; while running these routes, we’re fairly ubiquitous. We’re in the Eastern Shore areas of Daphne and Spanish Fort quite a bit too. And who in their right mind would visit the shores of Mobile Bay without stopping through Fairhope, one of America’s favorite cities, for lunch, dinner or both. Central Baldwin County is a beautiful area, especially from 300 feet in the air. The rural areas and sporadic ponds and rivers make for great aerial scenes.
Some of our other favorite areas include Perdido Key, Florida which is far enough from the Naval air station to allow aerial operations. Perdido Key is truly beautiful from the air. We’ll upload a video very soon for the “bend in the Gulf” on the Key where the coastline takes an abrupt turn and offers an incredible view near Johnson’s Beach.
The State Parks in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are beautiful and diverse. They offer some things not seen often during a trip to the beach, like a lot of wildlife. We were able to collect some great aerials along with sporty shots one might encounter while biking the State Park’s many wooded paths. Much of the area we live in opens up from the air and giving unprecedented perspectives with consistency and ease. Our Phantom 4 UAV’s are airborne in seconds with enough battery back-up to stay in the air continuously while we charge the next in line!
